Walkthrough 1: Who Had the Best Season?

The data is sorted by Passer Rating (the highlighted core column), which is the NFL's composite metric for QB efficiency. Click here to highlight the top-rated QB.

Lamar Jackson led all quarterbacks with a 119.6 passer rating, driven by an elite 41 TD to only 4 INT ratio. Click here to highlight Jackson's TD-INT numbers.

Walkthrough 2: Volume vs. Efficiency

Some QBs threw for huge yardage but at a cost. Joe Burrow led in passing yards (4,918) while Baker Mayfield threw for 4,500 yards — but Mayfield also had 16 interceptions. Click here to spotlight Burrow and Mayfield's stats.

Meanwhile, Sam Darnold (a USC Trojan!) posted 4,319 yards and 35 TDs but was sacked a league-high 43 times among this group. Click to highlight Darnold's sack total.

NFL quarterback statistics provide insight into both efficiency and volume production.

Glossary of Terms

Passer Rating
A composite number (0–158.3) that evaluates a quarterback's performance based on completions, yards, touchdowns, and interceptions per attempt. Higher is better.
Completion Percentage (Comp %)
The percentage of pass attempts that are caught by a receiver. Calculated as completions divided by attempts times 100.
Yards Per Attempt (Yds/Att)
Average yards gained per pass attempt. This measures how far the ball travels downfield on average each time the QB throws.
Touchdown-to-Interception Ratio (TD/INT)
The ratio of touchdowns thrown to interceptions. A higher ratio indicates a QB makes fewer costly mistakes relative to scoring plays.
Sacks
The number of times the quarterback is tackled behind the line of scrimmage before he can throw the ball. High sack numbers can indicate poor offensive line play or the QB holding the ball too long.
